Coordinate your rustic western wedding with favors that add whimsical charm to your event. Thank guests for being part of your special day with one of these easy themed options that remind them of your celebration.

Cowboy Hat and Boot Favors

No country-themed wedding would be complete without a few cowboy hat and western boots thrown into the mix. A great way to incorporate them into the theme is to turn them into the wedding favors. Some ideas to consider include:

  • Pick up miniature cowboy hats. Turn them upside down and fill with mini chocolate covered candies or Jordan almonds. Cover with brown tulle and tie with burlap.

  • Purchase mini cowboy boots. Stuff raffia or hay in them and then add candies and other goodies. Cover with cellophane in your wedding color and finish with a ribbon in your wedding color.
  • Use a place card holder in the shape of a boot or cowboy hat at each guest's seat that will serve as a place holder and a favor. The place card holder can be reused after the wedding for photographs.

Edible Country Wedding Favors

While simple favors such as chocolate bars and candies can easily be personalized with a country-themed label, there are many other edible wedding favors perfect for a country theme, such as:

Mini Barbecue Sauce Bottles

Purchase mini bottles or jars for packaging barbecue sauce or hot sauce. Make your own barbecue sauce, like one in an orange chipotle flavor, to help personalize your wedding. Attach a brown paper tag with a note of thanks.

Shaped Cake Pops

Making cake pops is fairly easy. If you're an old hand at this, consider taking your skills a little further and making shaped cake pops to fit your theme. Cowboy boots, tractor tires, and even farm animals like cows and pigs, can be shaped out of cake pops. If you don't want to make them yourself, ask your wedding cake decorator to do them for you.

Grilling Accessories

If you're hosting a country wedding BBQ, give out grilling tongs with a favor tag to thank everyone for attending. Tongs can be replaced with grilling spatulas or even brushes. Purchase them engraved or painted in a color that matches your wedding.

Homemade Honey or Jelly

Mini mason jars or cleaned baby food jars can serve as great packaging for honey or homemade jelly. Pick your favorite flavor and add a rustic sign to let everyone know they can pick up their favors.

Burlap Fudge Favors

Fill a burlap favor bag with assorted candies or plastic-wrapped fudge favors and tie with a small piece of twine. Make flavors like peanut and dark chocolate, peanut butter and raspberry, or even white chocolate, to suit your palate. Don't worry about cutting the fudge into uniform shapes; a little variation looks more rustic.

Themed Cookie Cutters and Cookies

Themed cookie cutters can be found in country designs such as boots, cowboy hats, horses, or horseshoes. Tractors and animals are usually available, too. Purchase heart-shaped cutters in bulk to use as a favor. Tie a plaid ribbon to each one along with a favorite cookie recipe such as one for old-fashioned chocolate chip cookies. Or, make decorated cookies using a themed cutter. Place small favor boxes near the table so guests can take home a delicious decorated favor.

Scented and Decorative Candles

Candles are always a popular option for a wedding favor. For a country wedding, a candle in a rustic mason jar in a country scent such as apple, pumpkin, or spice is ideal. You can go a step further and place a personalized label on each candle or place the candle in a clear gift bag and tie it off with a piece of twine. If you are crafty, you may want to make your own mason jar candle. This option allows you to customize your scent and is a great way to cut down on costs.

Flower Seeds

A packet of flower seeds, such as sunflower seeds, can add a pretty touch to any table. Add a small terra cotta pot and tie a ribbon around it in your wedding color. Add a saying to each packet with a wedding favor tag. Use one of the following ideas:

  • Plant these seeds as a symbol of our growing love.
  • These flowers will grow much like our love continues to grow.

Homemade Country Favors

Homemade favors are not only affordable but can also be unique. Make your own succulent holder or wildflower vase for a quick but themed option.

Succulent Holder

Cut small blocks of wood into 4"x4" squares. Drill a hole in the center. Sand each one so there aren't any rouch edges or sides. Add a small amount of potting soil and your succulent. Use a twine ribbon to tie on a favor tag that says "Let love grow".

Twine Wildflower Vase

Make a favor that can double as table decorations. Unwrap twine and circle a mason jar tightly, from top to bottom. Unroll and use this as your guide for cutting the twine. Cut enough strands to cover your mason jars. Use a glue gun to affix the twine to each jar. Work in just a row or two at a time so you don't burn yourself or risk the glue cooling before you complete each one. Fill with baby's breath and wildflowers and put at each place setting.

Additional Homemade Favor Ideas

Gather friends and family for the day and create favors for your guests such as:

  • Sachets made from burlap pouches and filled with cinnamon, lavender or potpourri
  • Small glass jars filled with spices or dried herbs such as basil or parsley
  • Homemade trail mix in mini bags using a mix of nuts, raisins, chocolate chips and dried cranberries

All In the Presentation

No matter what country favor you select, proper presentation can add another layer of country charm to the token. When giving favors to your guests, you can opt to have the favors at each place setting at the wedding reception or for a more country flair, pile the favors in a small wagon or barrel decorated with coordinating flowers and accents. Placing the favors near the entrance or guest book are the most popular choices. Wedding favors in a country theme are sure to be a hit at your wedding and will remind your guests of your special day after it has ended.
